Definition
TĀBIʿŪN (تابعون) refers to the followers or successors of the ṣaḥābah, the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). This generation did not directly meet the Prophet but came into contact with his companions, learning and preserving the teachings of Islam.
